Upholsterer's vinyl, buttons, linen thread, foam, mdf

Members Club is a site specific installation for The Booth at Gus Fisher Gallery, a heritage space constructed to house the building’s telephone booth in 1935. Exhibited as part of Gus Fisher Gallery’s re-opening exhibition, We’re Not Too Big to Care, Members Club mimics the upholstery style of the Chesterfield to consider forms of exclusion. The work borrows its title from the nearby Northern Club - an exclusive members club built on the site of the first section sold at Auckland’s inaugural controlled land sale in 1841.
