Saturday Safari
2017

Saturday Safari documents the temporary existence of sculptures created using clothing and accessories borrowed from online retailers and returned under a 28-day free returns policy. These temporary sculptures reference totems of contemporary art, mimicking the early business model of online retailers, such as ASOS (an acronym for 'As Seen on Screen'). who copied celebrity’s outfits to make their style accessible to everyday consumers.

Staged in a domestic setting, these works borrow from languages of advertising and are accompanied by semi-comedic vinyl lettered descriptions detailing the transactions through which their material components were acquired and alluding to a return to purpose after the works were disassembled.

This work was exhibited in Glasgow Project Room in 2017.
